A quote request is not an open door to your data.

Your info is never sold. No agent cold calls. With your authorization, it goes only to an owner-approved licensed broker, for your quote request only.

Effective August 9, 2026

What happens before anything is shared

Uploading a policy starts a PolicyShark review, not a broker request. We review your submitted document in protected storage and build a coverage baseline. Before any broker request, you see a separate choice on your private case page. If you decline, no comparison request is prepared or sent.

If you authorize a request, PolicyShark may send one factual email to an active, owner-approved, license-verified Georgia personal-auto broker whose verified email is configured for this workflow. You authorize the request; PolicyShark does not currently ask you to select an individual broker. We do not sell your information or use it for a public listing.

Exact broker-request field list

This is the complete post-audit payload for the active broker-email dispatch. The email contains no attachments. The approved coverage baseline is rendered only from the fields listed below.

Always shared after your authorization

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Policy state
  • Policy renewal date
  • Bodily injury liability limit per person and per accident
  • Property damage liability limit
  • Uninsured motorist limit per person and per accident
  • Personal injury protection limit, when present in the approved baseline
  • Collision deductible
  • Comprehensive deductible

Shared only if needed and separately authorized

None in the current automated workflow. If a broker says it needs another field, PolicyShark must obtain a separate case-level authorization before sharing that field. That information is not sent through the current dispatch automatically.

Never shared in the broker request

  • Your policy document or declaration-page photos
  • Your phone number
  • Home address, policy number, VIN, driver-license number, Social Security number, payment information, or claims history
  • Current premium, discounts, current insurer, policy-term notes, freeform coverage notes, or staff notes
  • Protected case links, tracking tokens, internal IDs, audit records, source references, or hidden metadata

No cold calls

PolicyShark does not collect a phone number in the scan form, does not include a phone number in the broker request, and does not provide a phone handoff workflow. The broker email instructs the broker not to call you. PolicyShark does not authorize agent cold calls.

Your choices

You can upload a policy without authorizing a quote request. You can decline the authorization on your private case page. If a broker needs more than the listed fields, we will ask before sharing it. You can ask us to update or delete retained information, subject to records we must keep for legal, fraud-prevention, or operational reasons, by emailing team@policyshark.madethis.app.

What this does not change

PolicyShark is a comparison and switching-support service, not an insurance brokerage. A broker or carrier handles any quote discussion, underwriting, purchase, and binding directly with you. A broker request is not a promise of a quote, savings, or coverage.
